This piece is dedicated to one of my dearest friends and collaborators, Dr. J.H. Monane. His life is impossible to sum up through a youtube video description. Born in 1921, died when an antivaxxer gave him covid. And yes, he predicted his own death. He was a teacher, musician, linguist, anthropologist, traveler, author, and a great friend.
