Monkey Business, also described as “the ‘Rite Of Spring’ of our generation,” is a silly piece for low brass trio and narrator. It follows the story of three heroes who seek out and defeat an evil monkey witch. The witch is not a monkey, rather just a witch that keeps monkeys in cages. It is based off of real-life events that took place at UMass Amherst. Fortunately, “Monkey Business” had such an impact that the real-life counterpart for the “evil monkey witch” is no longer able to torture the monkeys.
